Surprisingly cool place to be if you can ignore the consumption oriented materialistic vibe with all the designer stores.
Good place to stay -- Lamma island. Lots of free wifi (Green cafe,
Bookworm, Deli Lamma, expat bar whose name i forgot). You can
just show up and rent an apartment at one of the "holiday resorts"
(e.g. short term apartment rentals, even one day is ok).
Lamma has nice beaches and good hiking, 30 min ferry ride to central, departures
every half hour.
Efficient place to stay in Kowloon - Holiday Guest house, Chungking Mansion,
if you can deal with the buliding, the inside of the guest house is nice and clean.
In room wifi is good. USD25/night.
Any other tips?
